NBC Capital Corporation, Starkville, Mississippi, has agreed to acquire SunCoast Bancorp, Inc., Sarasota, Florida. Under the terms of the agreement, SunCoast shareholders would receive approximately $35 million, 45% in cash and 55% in NBC Capital shares.  The parties anticipate closing the transaction in the fourth quarter of 2006. The Carson Medlin Company is serving as financial advisor to SunCoast Bancorp in this transaction.
