W. Gray Medlin

Gray Medlin founded The Carson Medlin Company in 1991 and manages the firm’s North Carolina office. Immediately prior to founding The Carson Medlin Company, Mr. Medlin was vice president of corporate finance for a regional investment banking firm.  There he provided community banks with valuation-­related services, including mergers and acquisitions and financial fairness opinions. He began his corporate finance career handling corporate restructurings and private financings for a European­-owned manufacturer. Mr. Medlin earned a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.



Paula S. Johannsen

Paula S. Johannsen

Paula Johannsen joined Carson Medlin in 1993 and manages the firm’s Florida office. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Ms. Johannsen was a senior appraiser for a business valuation firm, appraising closely-­held businesses. Ms. Johannsen began her career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta as a commercial bank examiner. She continued her work with financial institutions as an equity analyst covering banking for a regional investment banking firm. Ms. Johannsen is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, where she received a B.S. degree in business administration.  She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has been designated an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in business valuations by the American Society of Appraisers.



Jeffrey E. Adams

Jeffrey E. Adams

Jeff Adams joined Carson Medlin in 2008 and manages the firm's Atlanta office. Mr. Adams has over 12 years of investment banking experience including eight years with Trident Securities, a division of KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he was responsible for business development and the execution of merger and capital raising transactions for Southeast-based financial institutions. Prior to Trident, Mr. Adams was a Vice President and City Executive for the State Employees Credit Union, a $17 billion credit union headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mr. Adams is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a Masters of Business Administration at East Carolina University.



Steven E. Huntington

Steven E. Huntington

Steve Huntington joined Carson Medlin in 2000, heads CMC's Research Department, which produces the firm's statistical reviews and equity research, and works in corporate finance in the firm’s North Carolina office. Mr. Huntington earned a B.S. in Business degree from Wake Forest University.  While at Wake Forest he was awarded several merit-­based business scholarships and participated in a program in West Africa studying the development of and economic issues facing underdeveloped countries. He has also served as a director on the founding board of directors for an economic development-related nonprofit foundation.



Dustin Saboorian

Dustin Saboorian

Dustin Saboorian joined Carson Medlin in 2009 and works in corporate finance in the firm's Atlanta office.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Saboorian worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he audited companies ranging from government-funded initiatives to venture capital firms.  Mr. Saboorian earned a B.S. in Business, a B.A. in Spanish, and a Masters in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
